Why you should attend the HOIDERA Marrieds Retreat

The HOIDERA Executive through the office of the Nyinabafumbo and Isebafumbo are organising a one-day Marrieds Retreat that will be held on 07 October 2023 at Les Foyers de Charité- Namugongo Kyoto with a theme of “Marriage, A Hidden Treasure!”.

This marriage retreat, the first of its kind to be organised by HOIDERA, shall start at 9am and end at 5pm. Invited are all the married HOIDERA members (both those that have attained and not yet attained Holy Matrimony). The retreat will be facilitated by Fr. Ronald Kyambadde and a married couple, Gonzaga and Paskazia Lubega.

The proposed couples’ retreat gives you an opportunity to spend time together without being distracted by other demands. You will be in an atmosphere of complete relaxation, with no obligations taking attention away from either you or your partner. This shall be a wonderful way to feel closer to each other. A serene location like Namugongo – Kyoto, far away from your everyday concerns will make it easier to simply enjoy each other’s company.

Your day-to-day routine is likely packed with different activities that demand your attention. From work to children, there is a lot on your plate. It can therefore be hard to find intimate time to spend with your partner. When you do spend time together, it can feel rushed because you have so many other things to worry about.

Majority of us will spend over 60% of our life time in a marriage relationship. This represents the bulk of our life and probably the most productive portion of our life. Therefore, the quality of life we live shall greatly be impacted by the quality of marriage we have. If you are one of the married HOIDERA members, please do not leave your marriage to chance!!. Take steps today to equip yourself with the knowledge and skills to lead a happy and fulfilled marriage.

Whether you have been married for many decades or just a few days, you can always learn something new about marriage. Why? Because we’re imperfect, and no matter how good we think our marriages are, there is always room for improvement.

Marriage is, essentially, a picture of God’s love for His people – Christ as the groom and the Church as His bride. So, we are meant to reflect that beautiful picture of love and unity in our own relationships with our spouses.

Often, we forget that purpose. We see marriage as something simply meant to fulfil us. While God does intend for marriage to bring us fulfilment and joy, He desires even more, that it would bring us closer to Him.

This marriage retreat therefore is meant to unify and point us back to God’s will for our marriages and rediscover Him as our foundation. And when we fix our eyes on Him, everything else in our lives will fall into place.

See you all at the Retreat on Saturday 07 October 2023 at Les Foyers de Charité- Namugongo Kyoto.
