On 3rd August 2025, the Hoima Diocese External Residents Association (HOIDERA) warmly welcomed the Bishop of Hoima Diocese, Rt. Rev. Vincent Kirabo Amooti, for a pastoral and fundraising mission aimed at strengthening unity among Christians living outside the diocese and supporting the construction of St. Mary’s Children Specialised Hospital, Hoima.

The highlight of the welcome was a special dinner themed “Dine with your Bishop”, where members and well-wishers came together to raise funds for the hospital project’s transformative initiative by the Diocese to provide specialised medical care for women and children.

Bishop Kirabo’s visit went beyond the dinner table. He embarked on a week-long engagement, meeting families, touring organisations, and visiting schools managed or headed by HOIDERA members.

These visits reflected the Bishop’s pastoral commitment to encouraging faith, promoting unity, and recognising the contributions of Christians in their various areas of service. The Kampala tour was organised through HOIDERA’s Small Christian Communities (SCCs), covering Jinja Road SCC, Hoima Road SCC, Kampala Central, Entebbe Road SCC, Gayaza Road SCC, and Bukerere SCC.

Each community prepared a warm welcome, with members expressing their joy at the Bishop’s presence and their commitment to supporting the diocesan hospital project.

This historic visit not only deepened the bond between the Diocese and its members in Kampala but also served as a powerful reminder of the collective mission to serve, give, and build together for the future of Hoima Diocese.

The Pastoral Visit ended with Holy Mass at Namugongo Shrine Pavilion A on 10th August, 2025.
