After several years without a June Mass due to Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations, the Hoima Diocese External Residents Association (HOIDERA) is pleased to announce that this year’s June Mass will take place on Sunday, 8th June 2025, at 10:00 AM. The Mass will be held at the HOIDERA Home in Manyagwa, Gayaza, Wakiso District, and will be animated by the HOIDERA Executive Committee.
Bukerere Small Christian Community leads May Mass

In May 2025, the Bukerere Small Christian Community (SCC) took on its first Mass animation since its formation. Led by Mr. Jude Kahwa Ateenyi, who also serves as HOIDERA’s Assistant Secretary, the community played a significant role in the liturgical celebration. Rev. Fr. Aiden Kasujja Amooti, the association’s chaplain, celebrated the Mass and encouraged Christians to actively participate in their various vocations, including religious life, marriage, and choir ministries.

In preparation for the bishop’s upcoming visit to the HOIDERA family, the animating community pledged UGX 10 million to support two key projects: the construction of St. Mary’s Women and Children’s Specialized Hospital in Hoima and the development of the HOIDERA Development Centre in Manyagwa, Wakiso District. The hospital project, spearheaded by the Hoima Catholic Diocese, aims to enhance healthcare services in the region.

Introduction of the new HOIDERA Administrator
During the same Mass, Ms. Ahaisibwe Jackline Abooki was introduced as the new HOIDERA Administrator. She will oversee the smooth running of HOIDERA activities and will commence her duties upon receiving her contract. Her office will be located at Summit Consulting Limited in Ntinda, under the supervision of Mr. Mugisa Bernabas Mustapha, the HOIDERA Investment Club Chairperson. For inquiries, Ms. Abooki can be reached at +256 740 852421.

Eng. Bigabwa Bategeka Moses Ateenyi, the HOIDERA President, urged members to join the HOIDERA Bereavement Fund and the HOIDERA Investment Club. He also emphasized the importance of picking up pledge cards for the bishop’s visit to aid in resource mobilization for the ongoing projects.
